We are looking for positive, cooperative, residents who want to volunteer to make our city a better place to live! We have so many good things already that with cooperation from the volunteers of Renton we can help to create the kind of community that blesses everyone.
Historically we have done our best to help seniors, youth, and families. We realize that there are great challenges for each of these important groups. The economy is a concern, but our greater concern is our need for each other.
We can all do something to make someone's life a little happier. Random acts of kindness are needed and organized cooperation has achieved so much! We participate with other great organizations on a local level to bring comfort and fun to each other.
One of our projects to give a little lift is an Art Show for the youth of our city from 5 years old to 18 years old. The theme of this Art Show is "Helping Each Other in Renton."
We will hold the show at the Highlands Recreation Center at 800 Edmonds Ave NE in the Highlands.
We are welcoming paintings, photography, sculpture, folded paper, or any other visual art form that the youth can dream up to promote helping each other. We hope for some great and creative messages expressed in the art of our young people.
We will furnish free: pizza, fried chicken, salads, and drinks. The show will be from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday May 21, 2011.
You can enter your Art contribution right there at that time.
There will be 1st. 2nd, and 3rd place cash prizes for each age category, elementary, middle school, and High School. It will be fun to see all of the ideas and expressions!
